Aaron Au started in the film industry as an actor and stunt performer and has amassed over 80 feature film and television credits that include GODZILLA, NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM and WATCHMEN. He has also worked as a fight choreographer, stunt coordinator, editor and visual effects artist. In 2008, he stepped behind the camera and pursued his passion for storytelling with his first short film, a Japanese period piece titled, THE TEA MASTER. After a string of successful shorts, Aaron co-wrote and produced his first feature film, a grindhouse action titled, EVIL FEED. He then went on to co-produce PREGGOLAND (James Caan, Danny Trejo). The Canadian comedy premiered as a special presentation at TIFF 2014 and had a North American theatrical release the following year.
As a Chinese Canadian that grew up on Asian cinema, Aaron is currently focused on connecting Brightlight Pictures with co-production partners in China as well as other countries in Asia and Europe. He is also writing and developing multiple film and TV projects including a feature film adaptation of the novel MORE THAN RICE by American author Pamala Kennedy. The screenplay was chosen as one of only three Canadian scripts to be invited to be pitched at the IFP Co-Production Market in New York.
